The church is filled with friends and family
The bridegroom anxiously waits
The wedding march starts playing
As we all anticipate -
The appearance of the bride.
But her gown is torn and dirty
No flowers adorn her hair
There is no veil upon her head
In disbelief, we stare -
At the appearance of the bride.
Because his bride was unprepared
The bridegroom's heart is shattered
It's as if she didn't care
As if he didn't matter.
Another bride is now preparing
To meet her Holy groom
In a wedding celebration
That could happen very soon -
With the appearance of the groom.
Will the bride present herself
To her groom with pride
Will He find her clothed in splendor
Will He be satisfied -
With the appearance of the bride?
The Holy bridegroom will return
One day to claim His own
Will the bride be prepared
When He comes to take her home?
Will He find her clothed in splendor
Will He be satisfied -
With the appearance of His bride?
